Determine Inspection Types and Risk-Based Intervals
The workplace risk assessment is the central tool for determining the type, scope, and deadlines of rack inspections. Depending on the mechanical stress, turnover rate, and hazard potential in the warehouse, different inspection intervals must be defined.
While weekly or risk-based visual inspections may be necessary under high loads to detect acute defects early, an expert inspection must be carried out at least every twelve months based on national and international standards like DIN EN 15635.
- Weekly visual checks by trained warehouse staff
- Annual expert inspection by a competent person
- Risk-based extraordinary inspections after accidents or impacts
